{"id":2265,"date":"2008-02-10T14:09:54","date_gmt":"2008-02-10T14:09:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.creativeyouthideas.com\/resources\/?p=2265"},"modified":"2021-04-08T20:25:11","modified_gmt":"2021-04-08T12:25:11","slug":"lovebirds-on-a-perch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.creativeyouthideas.com\/resources\/game-ideas\/lovebirds-on-a-perch\/","title":{"rendered":"LoveBirds on a Perch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Introduction<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is a high energy elimination game for Valentine&#8217;s Day where one couple is eliminated from play each round until there is only one couple left.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Game Description<\/strong><br \/>\nEvery time the Valentine&#8217;s day music stops, participant must pair up with their designated partner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Game Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valentine&#8217;s Day Music &#8211; Use a few romantic tunes or famous love songs.<\/li>\n<li>Large open area for people to mingle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Game Setup<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All girls must stand shoulder to shoulder in a circle facing outward.<\/li>\n<li>All the guys form a circle around them, with each guy facing his chosen partner (Valentine).<\/li>\n<li>Make adjustments so that the inner and outer circles contain an equal number of people.<\/li>\n<li>Girls and guys must take note of their Valentine as they will need to find each other again every time the music stops.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Game Play<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Staying in a circle, the girls begin walking clockwise.<\/li>\n<li>The guys walk counterclockwise, also maintaining their circle around the girls.<\/li>\n<li>When the music stops and the leader calls out &#8220;Lovebirds on a perch&#8221;, both circles stop and the Valentine&#8217;s Day couples must immediately move to find their partners.<\/li>\n<li>The guy must get down on one knee with the other knee extended so that the girl may sit on it.
