{"id":317,"date":"2008-07-27T09:04:05","date_gmt":"2008-07-27T09:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.creativeyouthideas.com\/resources\/?p=317"},"modified":"2021-04-08T20:09:37","modified_gmt":"2021-04-08T12:09:37","slug":"disciples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.creativeyouthideas.com\/resources\/creative-teaching-ideas\/disciples\/","title":{"rendered":"Disciples"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Description<\/strong><br \/>\nJesus ends the book of Mark with the disciples going out and doing the things he did&#8230;In this ACTIVITY youth will do mirror-image movements to demonstrate discipleship<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a Bible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to do<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Form pairs and have partners sit facing each other.<\/li>\n<li>Tell one person in each pair to mirror the other person&#8217;s actions.<\/li>\n<li>After a minute reverse roles.<\/li>\n<li>Ask the pairs to each make up a short skit in which they do mirror-image movements (For example, partners could wave with one hand wave with the other hand shrug their shoulders then fall backward)<\/li>\n<li>Have volunteers share their skits.<\/li>\n<li>Did the skits have any meaning?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Discussion<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How did you feel being a mirror?<\/li>\n<li>How did you feel being a model?<\/li>\n<li>In what ways does a Christian disciple mirror Jesus?<\/li>\n<li>How would you define a Christian disciple?<\/li>\n<li>What are some of the things that Christ did?<\/li>\n<li>In what ways is Christ an example for us to follow? Actions? Attitudes?<\/li>\n<li>Did Christ&#8217;s actions have a purpose?
