“Having Failed Myself”

By some statistics many who made resolutions for the new year
\nhave already failed at some if not all of them.<\/p>\n

I’m here to remind you that’s okay.<\/p>\n

Failure is an event not a person.<\/p>\n

We put way too much emphasis on the first day of the new year
\nanyway.<\/p>\n

As for setting goals, we also place too much on the first day of
\nthe month or Mondays.<\/p>\n

I remember when I was in sales, we struggled with getting people
\nto commit to something as we got closer to the holidays each year.<\/p>\n

“Well, let me think about it.\u00a0 Call me after the holidays.”<\/p>\n

Then there was vacation time.<\/p>\n

“As soon as I get back from vacation.”<\/p>\n

The truth is, most people spend more time planning their vacations
\nthan they do planning their life.<\/p>\n

We are all procrastinators in some way.<\/p>\n

So, when is a good time to begin?<\/p>\n

How about right now?<\/p>\n

Whatever resolution you may have failed to keep can be started again
\nand again, at any time if it is for all the right reasons.<\/p>\n

Whether it be a change in diet, attitude, exercise, finances,
\nrelationships or simply to read more, play more, rest more,
\nthere is no better time to begin than right now.<\/p>\n

Obviously, you have chosen something that you believe in.\u00a0 By failing
\nto follow through on that belief you may be revealing the real truth.<\/p>\n

You don’t believe in yourself enough to make it happen.<\/p>\n

Now is the time to begin.<\/p>\n

Permit me to ask you this question.<\/p>\n

If you had failed God in any way when should you ask for forgiveness
\nand change your ways?<\/p>\n

Monday?\u00a0 The first of the month? After vacation? After you do it wrong
\na few more times just to get it out of your system?<\/p>\n

No!\u00a0 God would want you to do it now.<\/p>\n

What you failed to accomplish in these first days of the new year may
\nnot be an actual sin against God.\u00a0 Still, He wants you to be happy, to
\nthrive, and to be all you can be.<\/p>\n

So, if those changes, those resolutions you made would make you a better
\nyou, isn’t that what God expects of you?<\/p>\n

When you were born He made the best possible you.<\/p>\n

He then expected you to live up to it and grow into the plans He had for
\nyou from the very beginning.<\/p>\n

Here’s the best part.\u00a0 Everyday that you wake up He gives you another
\nchance to begin again.\u00a0 He closes the door on yesterday and opens
\nthe door to today.<\/p>\n

You know what you have to do.\u00a0 You know why you should.\u00a0 You also know that
\nyou can.<\/p>\n

It’s not just another day, it’s another chance.<\/p>\n
