Doctors and scientists said it was impossible!
\nMan could not run a mile in less than 4 minutes!
\nHe would die in the foolish attempt.
\nIt was an Impossible Dream.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our bone structure was wrong.
\nWind resistance was too great.
\nWe had inadequate lung power.
\nOur heart could not take the strain.<\/span><\/p>\n

25 year-old Roger Bannister wasn’t listening.
\nHe endured thousands of monotonous laps,
\nAround the same university track,
\nDetermined to shape his body and his mind.<\/span><\/p>\n

May 6, 1954, at Oxford University in England,
\nWas viewed as simply another attempt,
\nIn a history of foolish attempts,
\nTo achieve the Impossible Dream.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet at the end of the race the stop-watches held a different view.
\nThe results were announced.
\n‘Result of one mile\u2026 time, 3 minutes\u2026’
\nThe rest was lost in the roar of the crowd.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roger Bannister blazed across the finish line,
\nIn a time of 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds.
\nThe Impossible Dream was now an event for the history books,
\nConsidered one of the greatest feats in sports history.<\/span><\/p>\n

46 days after Bannister’s breakthrough,
\nThe record was broken again by a different runner.
\nBy the end of 1957,
\n16 runners had achieved the Impossible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Runners did not suddenly get “better” in those few short years.
\nThey simply began to believe.
\nRunning a mile in less than four minutes was not only possible,
\nIt had been achieved!<\/span><\/p>\n

To date, 955 runners have achieved the Impossible Dream
\nAccomplishing the feat an incredible 4700+ times.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many of life\u2019s barriers and obstacles come from within.
\nWe create limits for ourselves.
\nBut once those barriers are broken,
\nWe realise the biggest barriers are our beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n

What beliefs are keeping you from achieving your dreams?
\nDon’t accept them. Don’t listen to the voices of doubt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Forge ahead in faith and you too
\nCan achieve Impossible Dreams!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
\n-Matthew 19:26<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord\u2026\u201d

Belief plays a significant part in the life of believers. \u00a0We believe in Christ for salvation. \u00a0And through our faith in Him, God does the impossible. \u00a0As William Carey, pioneer missionary of the modern missions movement, said, “Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God.”<\/span><\/p>\n

And like Roger Bannister we may have seemingly impossible dreams. As William Carey, pioneer missionary of the modern missions movement, said, “Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God.” Unlike Roger Bannister, we don’t do things for earthly accolades, but for the rewards of heaven, that one day we might stand before God and hear, ‘Behold my servant, in whom I am well pleased.”<\/span><\/p>\n
