WHO AM I?<\/p>\n

God made Adam out of dust,
\nBut thought it best to make me first;
\nSo I was made before the man
\nAccording to the Lord’s Holy Plan.<\/p>\n

My whole body God made complete,
\nWithout arms or hands or feet.
\nMy ways and acts did the Lord control,
\nBut in my body He placed no soul.<\/p>\n

A living being I became,
\nAnd Adam gave to me a name.
\nThen from his presence I withdrew,
\nFor this man Adam I never knew.<\/p>\n

All my Maker’s laws I do obey,
\nAnd from these laws I never stray.
\nThousand’s of me go in fear,
\nBut seldom on the earth appear.<\/p>\n

Later, for a purpose the Lord did see,
\nHe placed a living soul in me.
\nBut that soul of mine the Lord had to claim,
\nAnd from me took it back again.<\/p>\n

And when this soul from me had fled,
\nI was the same as when first made;
\nWithout arms, legs, feet, or soul,
\nI travel on from pole to pole.<\/p>\n

My labors are from day to night,
\nAnd to men I once furnished light.
\nThousands of people, both young and old,
\nDid by my death bright lights behold.<\/p>\n

No right nor wrong can I conceive,
\nThe Bible and it’s teachings I can’t believe.
\nThe fear of death does not trouble me,
\nPure happiness I will never see.<\/p>\n

Up in Heaven I can never go,
\nNor in the grave or Hell below.
\nSo get your Bible and read with care,
\nYou’ll find my name recorded there.<\/p>\n
