While a bit funny, they are also a bit sad because I know some youth who have made similar New Year Resolutions. In fact I have made a few of these myself. We all know what we should do, but it is so easy to make excuses for ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>This year, I resolve to&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gain weight. At least 30 pounds.<\/li>\n<li>Stop exercising. Waste of time.<\/li>\n<li>Read less. Makes you think.<\/li>\n<li>Watch more TV. I&#8217;ve been missing some good stuff.<\/li>\n<li>Procrastinate more. Starting tomorrow.<\/li>\n<li>Spend more time at work, surfing with the T1.<\/li>\n<li>Take a vacation to someplace important: like, to see the largest ball of twine.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t jump off a cliff just because everyone else did.<\/li>\n<li>Stop bringing lunch from home: I should eat out more.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t have eight children at once.<\/li>\n<li>Get in a whole NEW rut!<\/li>\n<li>Start being superstitious.<\/li>\n<li>Personal goal: bring back disco.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t bet against the Minnesota Vikings.<\/li>\n<li>Buy an &#8217;83 Eldorado and invest in a really loud stereo system.<\/li>\n<li>Get the windows tinted. Buy some fur for the dash.<\/li>\n<li>Speak in a monotone voice and only use monosyllabicwords.<\/li>\n<li>Only wear jeans that are 2 sizes too small and use a chain or rope for a belt.<\/li>\n<li>Spend my summer vacation in Cyberspace.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t eat cloned meat.<\/li>\n<li>Create loose ends.<\/li>\n<li>Get more toys.<\/li>\n<li>Get further in debt.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t believe politicians.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t drive a motorized vehicle across thin ice.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid transmission of inter-species diseases.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid airplanes that spontaneously drop 1000 feet.<\/li>\n<li>Stay off the International Space Station.<\/li>\n<li>Not swim with pirhanas or sharks.<\/li>\n<li>Associate with even worse business clients.<\/li>\n<li>Spread out priorities beyond my ability to keep track of them.<\/li>\n<li>Wait around for opportunity.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on the faults of others.<\/li>\n<li>Mope about my faults.<\/li>\n<li>Never make New Year&#8217;s resolutions again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These New Year Resolutions, while funny, are also a bit sad because I know some youth who have made similar commitments for the upcoming year.
