My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand,

It's a familiar Hymn, but what does it mean for Christ to be My Rock?
Many times our lives seem like a mess and it's often our mothers who come to our rescue. We don't always see the wisdom in the things they tell us to do and sometimes we think that we're smarter than they are. But we often forget that many times, they see life through the lens of their rich life experiences. Often, it is only later, when we look back, that we appreciate their wisdom and guidance. What is true of mothers, is even more true of God. Maybe we need a change of perspective to understand life's journey.
All of us face tough situations in our lives. We could be having the time of our lives but when bad things happen, the good times are forgotten, and all we can see ahead of us is despair. Christ passed through the gates of Jerusalem triumphantly, people waved palm leaves, cloaks were laid at the feet of the donkey He rode on, the crowds cheered and welcomed Him. Barely a week later, the cheers turned to jeers, it was His cloak that was ripped from Him and it was a whip that greeted Him. This Easter themed object lesson uses a walnut to teach the youth that even in the darkest hour and hopeless situations, something good awaits for those who know the plan of the Master.
When a person meets Christ a change occurs. Their identity, their actions, and even their thoughts will change over time. Some changes may be immediate such as they are now called "Christians," and "children of God" etc. Other changes may take a lifetime. A classic youth game, known as "Buzz", is used along with famous Bible Characters to illustrate some of the changes that occur when someone puts their faith in Christ or God.
This learning game is a great way to introduce the concept of obedience to God. It can also be used for famous Biblical personalities that practiced hearing God and obedience to Him.
In this Christmas team building game for youth, each team of youth will form a circle holding hands with each person on the left and right and then pass a wreath around the circle as quickly as possible without letting go. The fastest group wins.
